Over the years, sports has been known to promote discipline and dignity among people and is also important for wellness programmes.
Accepting the donation, Oshana governor Elia Irimari commended the two companies for boosting the morale of his employees who partake in sport activities. He promised them that the teams will work hard to emerge victorious during various competitions.
“Let me assure you that we take your sponsorship greatly and proudly with a believe and understanding that we are not only going to showcase that this is from Rani or from FNB Namibia, but we are going to compete. Competing to win. We believe that we are a winning team” Irimari said.
Speaking in unison the two companies pledged their continued support to local sports development in the region and beyond to ensure the youth are kept busy.
“I used to be a very good sports player when I was in school many years ago. Now I cannot even run. Sports is something which gives you discipline, when you lose you shake hands which makes it easy for one to play the ball and not the man” Ali Dharani said.
The team is currently preparing for the upcoming annual regional council sport tournament to be hosted in Eenhana in September.
